It is so easy to minimize the power of jealousy, but it’s the most dangerous weapon among families and friends. It was there since in the beginning. Satan, one of God’s angels has it against God, Cain, Abel’s brother had it against Abel, Saul, David’s father in law had it against David. All those jealousies led to destruction and conflict. You’ll think since it’s been around for so long, Christian would know how to deal with it! Surprisingly, it is even worse today even among so called “best friends”. My observation and reading the news said the world is worse than it has been since Cain and Abel. Where is the love, Christ calls us to cultivate? If you find this post speaks to you or your friend, take time to reflect on the verses below and pray to Jesus. Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. (1 Peter 2:1-3 NIV), Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:12-14 NIV)
