It’s good to be back in the State. I have been gone for a few weeks, and two of those weeks, I was in Haiti. It was good to be there and reconnect with everyone.
I had the opportunity to reconnect with Diueloveson, whose older brother was one of the originals(the first seven students I connected with) before his passing due to a tragic accident seven years ago. We wanted to continue supporting the family after his passing, so we added Diueloveson to our students. Diueloveson was one of the children who followed me everywhere I went in the village. These children lighted a fire in my heart for the town.
Diueloveson was born on February 7, 2006, in Lagrange, Haiti. His parents were barely able to provide for the family. They both are self-sustaining farmers. Diueloveson loves his parents, and he comes to the village to help them on the farm on the weekends. Both of his parents are active members of our church. They are hard workers.
He says his best friend is one of the most influential people in his life. He likes to play soccer with his friends. Diueloveson goes to school in St Marc, the closest city next to the village. He said he would like to become a technician after school. He loves school and loves it when the teachers come to school because, many times, the teachers do not show up for class.
Duieloveson is the only boy in the family, with two older sisters and four little sisters. He stated,” I have a good relationship with my sisters.” His favorite verse is Psalms 150:1. “My biggest hope is Christ Jesus,” he stated. He is an intelligent young man. When you invest in a child’s future, you might be invested in changing a nation. Will you please join me in shaping the future of Haiti by supporting a child with less than $10 a month?
